INVESTITURE CEREMONY 2024 -2025 4th July 2024

The Investiture Ceremony for the academic session 2024-25 was held with great pomp and dignity at St. Joseph’s  High School, English Medium Jokalandi on 4th July 2024.

The event began with welcoming and introducingthe Chief Guest of the day for the Investiture Ceremony, Shri. ACP  Prasanna Kumar Sahoo, a great personality and an inspiration  for all.He joined as SI on 20.12.2010. Training at BPSPA, BBSR. After Training he joined at SOG, Chandaka BBSR. During his SOG period he worked at different Naxal districts like Its commendable that he had done 30 to 40 Naxal operations in various districts. Then he got promoted to INSPECTOR of police and worked at Special security Battalion, BBSR from 05/06/2021.There he has been conferred with the responsibility of giving security to Honourable Chief Minister of Odisha, Honourable Governor of Odisha and many more duties. Now he is posted at OSAP 7th Battalion BBSR since promotion from 31/07/2023 as ACP of police. Sr. Archana and Sr. Keerthana ,the Principal and Vice Principal  of St.Joseph High School EM Jokalandi also graced the occasion.Mrs. Urvashi Devi  welcomed our respected Chief Guest, Shri ACP Prasanna Kumar Sahoo with a bouquet.  Mrs. Sanghamitra and Mrs. Nilu  felicitated  him with a stole and a memento.

Investiture means a formal investing of a person with authority, power, right, office and dignity.This  is one of the most important ceremony of the school. A traditional feature of our school, eagerly awaited by all the students of the school. Years after years, it reminds us of the trust and confidence that we repose in our newly elected cabinet. Donning the mantle of responsibility, they all pledge to dispense their duties to the best of their abilities and abide by rules and regulations of the school.

The programme  commenced with the lighting of the  lamp for invoking  the God’ s presence and for which Chief Guest,Sir  Prasanna Kumar Sahoo Principal Sister Archana,Vice Principal Sister Keerthana, Miss Biswakalpita Priyadarshini and Master Mohit Verma the student representatives were invited to come forward and light the lamp.Our  student ,DK Divya Prem  of class 7 was then invited  to sing the prayer song. It was then continued by the badge distribution to the elected representatives of our Student Council members. Chief Guest was requested to   assign the badges to the students.

Master Mohit Verma  was unanimously  chosen as the head boy and  Miss Biswakalpita Priyadarshini was elected as the Head Girl .

The ceremony was held with zeal and enthusiasm.

Introduction of school houses:

The house system was devised to promote Team Spirit and a sense of belonging to the school also this enables the students of the school to provide care and direction to the  students from various classes.

The four houses of our school are sapphire, Emeral,d Ruby and topaz.

Some students were elected and delegated with the responsibilities as House Captains  and Vice Captains to instil leadership quality and foster a profound sense of belongingness among them and their fellow mates.

Sapphire house

Captain – Miss Gracy Sahu ,Class IX,  Vice Captain – Miss Sai Krishna Gouda ,Class IX

Emerald house

Captain – Miss Ankita  Bisai class VIII , Vice Captain – Miss  Sonam Priyadarshini Class VIII.

Ruby House :

Captain – Miss Sadhana Sahoo class IX,  , Vice-captain -Master Albin Kumar Singh  Class VIII

Topaz House :

Captain – Miss D. Priyasa class VIII, Vice captain- Prince Power Suna of class VII.

The student council took the pledge recited by the Principal Sr. Archana,promising to fulfil their duties to their best and to hold the school motto in high esteem.

The Chief Guest in his speech, congratulated them and addressed them to be impartial and honest in leadership, unity, discipline and morality.

The function concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Mrs.Reshma Tripathy and it followed  The  National Anthem !!!
