Picnic To Dhauligiri,Puri and Konark

Picnics are one of the most exciting things that children and adults love equally. It helps us divert from daily life and adds a touch of variety to our lives. Moreover, a picnic can take us to another world that is different from the one we live in daily. It adds charm to our life and is a nice refreshment in our life.
On 3rd February 2024, a school picnic was organized by the management for the students of classes V to IX along with all the staff of School. The teachers (16) and all the interested children (59) arrived at the school campus by 6.30 a.m. Attendance was taken and they were assigned their seats in the buses.The journey began at around 7.30 a.m. The students were extremely excited and kept singing songs and dancing in the bus till they reached the venue and they were served the breakfast on their way. The first stop around 8.30 am was at the scenic and the Mighty White Dhauli Shanti Stupa standing tall amidst green flora. That very look of Dhauli from a distance, was quite inviting. The children took a round of the beautiful sanctum. A group photo was taken and memory was captured in everyone’s heart.Children took a lot of photos with their friends and teachers.
The next stop was at the enchanting beach of Puri.We reached Puri by afternoon.We went to the sea beach and enjoyed the cool sea breeze.After that, we all settled down at a picnic spot on the way of marine drive. Children played a lot of games like blind fold, passing the ball, dancing, dumb charades, etc. Every child was given an opportunity to participate and enjoy themselves. After fun packed morning, all headed for food.
During lunchtime, the school arranged a hot and delicious meal which was very nutritious. Everyone relished the meal.Next spot on the tour was Chandrabhaga beach. This place is 3 kms away from Konarak temple and a beach worth watching.
Next stop was at Konark for visiting the architectures as beautiful and as neatly. The wheels or chakras all over the temple maintain its uniqueness and sharpness in structure. The name Konark was an amalgamation of two Sanskrit words Kon, meaning Corner and the word Arka is referring to the dedication of the temple to the sun God. We took pictures of the “Nata Mandir” inside the temple area.
Then we proceeded for our return journey to the school campus. Snacks were served to the children to quench their evening hunger pangs. The teachers had a nice time interacting with the children and came to know more about them. Indeed, it was a great day for all the students and teachers, as it strengthened the bond between the students and teachers.
All the students along with the teachers reached the campus safely and the final attendance was taken. The principal offered the prayers to the Almighty for a successful and safe completion of the trip. All the students and teachers departed with their respective guardians from the campus. It was indeed a very memorable day in the Calendar of St. Joseph’sHigh School English Medium, Jokalandi.
